Buffy Ep 20 - Villains

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!

That was amazing. I can't believe how scary that episode of Buffy was. Talk about making your blood run cold. (And that was - no doubt - the edited version) plus we are obviously coming to the "lets blow all the special effects budget coz there's only two eps left" stage. Which is good.

Ok, where to start?

Alyson Hannigan was amazing in this episode. The range of emotions displayed from dispair to anger to absolute fury to cold determination was chillingly authentic. I wouldn't fancy getting in the way.

Had to laugh at Andrew and Johnathan discussing Matthew Broderick - but immediately felt guilty laughing at such a dark episode.

My heart went out to Dawn when she discovered Tara's body. Hasn't the poor girl been through enough?

Had to say that given everything else that was going on Spikes little dallience with the nasty demon didn't interest me in the slightest. Who cares when Willow's going Psycho Hose Beast on everybody?!?

The piece de resitance has to be the final scenes in the woods. Not sure I wanna see the uncut version. That was bad enough i can't believe that Willow would do something *that* bad no matter how hurt and bent on vengence she was.

Then there's the matter of her final words. "One down." So, the implication of this is "Two to go" and the obvious meaning is that she's going after Johnathan and Andrew (But they didn't do anything much - poor johnathan) A more sinister meaning could be 'one down' as in Willow has sucumbed to the Dark Side and Buffy and Xander could soon follow - Or am I reading too much into this?

I soooooooooooo can't wait for next week. I hope sky shows the finale as a single episode.

Definately interested to hear the opinions of others on this, particularly those who have considered this a weak season.

I LOVED this ep!! It was really scary!! Willow looked sooooo cool!

Poor Dawn when she found Tara!

The end was fantastic it was really eerie(sp?) when you realised she really is evil

Its quite upsetting when you compare her to original sweet, innocent Willow!

Cant wait for the next eps!!

BTW I thought Warren had a T-shirt on at first!!! Someone give the boy some immac!!!

Another great ep as people have said. I think people are reading too much into Willow's 'One down....' comment. She sees Jonathan and Andrew as part of Warren's gang and, therefore, just as culpable. Now that she's killed Warren, she's got a taste for it (anyone else see similarities with Faith's downfall here??) and she's going after these two.

This is pure conjecture, but Willow's 'development' here can now only go three ways, IMO:-

1) She is killed at the end of Season 6 (either by Buffy or another force)

2) The arc continues into Season 7 (which seems the most likely) and continues to be the Big Bad in that season.

3) She is either defeated in the S6 finale, or early into S7, and her 'story' is a sub-arc of her path to redemption. However, that's already been done with Angel, and Faith to a lesser extent.

Still, it will be ineteresting to see how this all pans out.

And, yes, very much am liking Clam. Can see him becoming a full time Scooby in S7

The One down comment is linked to the next episode, which is called two to go. Personally, I didn't really like this episode. It was good, but kind of senseless. The best thing for me was the cool gadgets warren used to try and stop willow. Methinks I've been watching too much Alias. Angel was a lot better, in the end this episode was kind of dull and predictable. You won't hear me say Angel's better a lot, but in this case it was.

Still, I am looking forwards to the next two episodes of Buffy, it is so cool, especially what happens to spike at the end. I have to say, I never saw that coming. But I'll comment more when the final episodes have shown.

Watched this on Saturday and I think it was pretty cut. I wasn't really paying attention either, so that didn't help. What happened to Spike at the end?

For me, I think this is most probable, BUT I think, since it most likely will be the final season, that Willow AND Spike will team up as the baddie duo, against Buffy, both with good reasons, not a ham fisted one.

I don't think Willow will die, it's too soon, I think Josh Whedon would want more Bad Willow, I think this is a build-up.

But who cares, it's going to be amazing

I'd heard a lot of spoilers for the last couple of weeks, but nothing since, and I want to keep it that way for once!

I suffered brain failure on Thursday when I set the timer on my video to record Buffy & Angel (I am, alas, never in on a Thursday evening) but neglected to actually switch the timer on!

Imagine my reaction on discovering my mistake when I got home. (

Though there is no way back with Angel, I at least satisfied myself with the small satisfaction of being able to get the (often edited) repeat on Saturday evening. This week, for reasons I cannot think of, dear old Sky decided not to repeat Thursday's ep and showed "The Zeppo" instead -

This did nothing to improve my mood...

If anybody out there is able to sort me out a copy of the relevant eps, I would be most greatful and I will be happy to sort out postage and provide a replacement tape.

Hmmm, maybe I've lost count. But I thought that last Thursday's ep (23rd May) was number 20 - If it's not, then it's possible that I've missed another one somewhere along the line!

The 23 May episode was 6x21, "Two To Go", the penultimate episode of the season. This was not repeated yesterday, but will be alongside episode 22 on 2 June, forming a 2-hour season finale. Episode 20, "Villains", aired the week before, was severely cut, and was repeated on the Saturday (cut even further).

'Bargaining' was a 2-part ep and was counted as eps 1 & 2, if you've just counted it as one then that's probably where you're confused

Probably a bit late to add to this but wanted to say that the whole 'bored now' line was probably more than just a reminder of the whole vampire willow thing. Didn't Angel sort of suggest that vampires are more than just a demon inhabiting a human host at the end of the dopelgangland episode when Willow was complaining about Vampire Willow being 'kinda gay'. At the time it seemed like a nod towards the whole Tara relationship to come but it could also indicate that Willow always had a darker side than she let on and thats why she was one of the Masters best vampires when she was turned.

Dunno, what do others think?

hummmmmm - I think Dan is right with gay comments regarding Evil Willow, but the 'Bored Now' line was too well placed to be accidental.

Bearing in mind that its always easier and more likely to reference back than to hint at something before the event
