Saddest: death of Mark Greene and there was an episode where a little boy of about 18 months was dying.. i can't remember what of, but his mother sat in a rocking chair and was gently nursing him.. the name of the little boy was Joel (as is mine) and my son was 18 months old or thereabouts when i saw the episode.

Greatest:

The episode which Doug Ross rescues a boy trapped in a storm drain during a torrential rain storm. Just the way he emerges from under the flood water illuminated by a helicopter's beam with the boy in his arms.. dramatic stuff.. and i loved Doug Ross.. but when Luca came onto the scene, i didn't miss him.

The scene where Luca tells, i think Abby about how his wife and children died, how he couldn't save them.. it was heartrending stuff.

The birth of Peter Benton's son Reece.

Saddest moments...

Lucy's death....almost cried while watching that episode as she was one of my fave characters at the time.

The med student who killed himself in the first series by jumping infront of the L Train (powerful stuff)

When Susan left.

Watching Carter take charge of the ER during the chemical spillage incident

Luca and the Priest in the chapel - the eery music in this episode was pretty chilling.

Carter being stabbed - they played the music that was playing when he was stabbed in a series 8 episode where he meets the patient again - hearing the music takes you right back to that episode.

When Corday is confused when she finds out that Green's brain tumor is back. Romano asks Cordey - Is he your husband?

Abbey as she talks to her mother about her abortion - how she was afraid of her child being bi-polar.

Later in the above episode at the softball game - Luca keeps running!

for these i gotta agree with what most people have already chosen:

1) Carter's stabbing and Lucy's death. actually pretty much all of the episode 'All in the Family'.
2) Mark's death. I was crying after 'Orion in the Sky' when he left the ER and after 'The Letter', but not actually watching him die, which was weird.
3) Again it's been said but - in 'Where the Heart is', Abby telling her mum about the abortion. i started crying at Abby's "Some people aren't meant to be mothers"
4) When Carter rejects Abby in 'Supplies and Demands. the only time i've ever hated Carter. poor Abby!
5)When Abby gets attacked by Bryan.

Greatest:

1) the end of 'Sand and Water', when Abby and Carter are just sat talking in Doc McGoo's. i've watched that scene a hundred times.
2) The whole of 'Secrets and Lies' when Abby, Carter, Susan, Luka and Gallant are at the sexual harrassment seminar. one of my fave eps. plus it's the end of Carter and Susan
3) 'Thy Will be Done', after Abby and Carter's non-date when they go and let the air out of the tyres on Abby's ex-husbands car.
4) the conversation between Abby and Carter when they're sat in the back of the police car after breaking into Luka's to replace his fishtank.
5) When Cleo left

erm, just noticed how many of those were Carby moments. i'm not obsessed! honest. ok, maybe a little bit...
