Review

Finally! A show shown by Sky One that hasn't been snatched up by the incompetent fools at Channel 4! (Ever managed to catch Futurama on C4? No, neither have I!)

Methinks I might watch the pilot on C5 when it starts.

Well even though I'm not head over heels for Jessica Alba, I will want to be staying into watch this show. I'm a big fan of the broad "cyberpunk" genre so I'm really looking ofrward to this

Out of curiosity..of the peeps who have posted/will post how many of you have seen an episode of the show before??

I watched every epsiode of both series and have to say it was a great show(can't believe it got cancelled). Are peeps watching because they've heard some of us say how good it is or is it a not got Sky/missed it first time round thing??

I saw a lot of the eps when it was on sky, but I missed a few chunks here and there, so I guess it's a chance to fill in the blanks as it were

I've not seen a single one. I'm going on a combination of recomendation from folks here and elsewhere, and a general love of all things in the genre I've heard it pigeonholed into.

Most shows of "cult/sci-fi" status I'll give a once over to, and if I like them I'll come back for more, if not I'll just stop watching.

Same here - I don't have Sky and have seen recommendations for it both here and in mags like SFX. It's the kind of thing I'm interested in. (Incidentally, watched Alias for the first time on Sat: completely unbelievable but enjoyable!)

So what did people think of Ep 1 Dark Angel then...opinions please

I thought it looks like a hell of a lot of fun I'll probably be at Sanctuary this weekend when it's on so I'll be taping it for sure.

I found the genetically engineered superhero Max thing totally unbeleivable, more so than the Buffy magical destiny superhero thing, but I liked the harder edge to the character than the whiney Buffy thing.

The police hover drones are a very nice touch, and I think the post EMP pulse world setting works really well.

I can't beleive I was so uninterested before!??!?!?!?!?

I actually thought the second episode was better than the first, there were times when I really wasn't expecting the things that happened. The character is much cooler than Buffy but I'm not really sure *why* her pupils would dilate when she focuses on something though?

I like Dark Angel a lot! I also think that the second episode was better than the first. All the actors play their parts well. My only criticism is that sometimes I find it hard to understand what Max's friends are saying, but that's just me being useless with accents. Jessica Alba reminded me of Faith quite a bit in the latest ep, especially when she said to the bad guy "you're cute" before taking him out! I just wish that Max would stop sitting on that Space Needle thing because I can't stand heights and it turns my stomach every time!

I'm guessing it's to do with her DNA containing some animal DNA...I think if i remember rightly her eyesight is from an owl and her pupils dilate so that she sees further away but in a smaller spectrum(sort of like tunnel vision) I can't remember the exact specifics behind it though.
