The muppets are people who say its rubbish.

Its my fave programme on the box at the moment, Its got ace acting, kicking plots, Yeah and the British/Australian influences are definatly there and none of this happy ending smaltchz.

Got all of Season 1 and 2 on dvd, and despite having Sky have yet to watch any of Season 3 (besides the "RoadRunner ep) as I missed the first few and then decided not to watch them out of sequence.

All of Chricton's pop culture references are funny, esp when the others don't get them. I'm looking forward to this lasting a good few more seasons as well as the (tentively) planned movie.

i love farscape...along with Buffy its my fav. show on tv at the mo'.

FarScape? Love it!

Wasn't too fond of some of the early ones, but it grows on you rapidly... And it's the only show I know of that takes those kinds of liberties with it's cast! The roadrunner ep was amazing (hence my handle ).

Main reason for liking?

Claudia Black, obviously...

I think FarScape is a really good show. I watched it from the start & it has had me laughing out loud & crying my eyes out.

I agree with Morph, the pop culture references are so funny & make me realise how strange things we say everyday actually are.

I have all of Season 1 on DVD & am looking in the next few weeks to grab everything else that is out there on DVD release so far.

I love this show and try to watch it whenever it's on. Like VG, I love the pop culture references in it.

Sure it's got "muppets" in it, but they fit into the show brilliantly. They seem more lifelike than some of the CGI characters.

The Scorpy storyline seemed to be streched somewhat but still made for some interesting episodes.

Sticking my neck out here - I watched the first ep and wasn't impressed, so I never went out of my way to tune in again!!

After reading your comments I think I ought to give it another go... So don't beat me *too* hard!

I never started watching it, and i generally dislike coming in to the middle of things like this so never gave it a chance.

Then i saw the final ep from whatver season was just on the Beeb when Dan was down, and was very impressed. Despite not knowing most of what was going on i was touched and intrigued by the characters immediately. Definately be investigating further when he gets them on DVD

That would be an if I get them on DVD. The way they've been released, it's very expensive, so I may get the VHS boxsets at some point instead.

I didn't really get into the show until towards the end of Season 2 (still need to see the early stuff), but I loved the end of S2 and a lot of S3. One of the most daring and imaginative shows I've seen, both visually and in terms of the stories. It doesn't always work, but when it does it's amazing.

And the muppets? Occasionally it gets very silly, such as the episode where Rygel, ahem, found a mate but both he and Pilot are such strong characters that after a while you kinda stop noticing.

And, well, when does S4 start then?

Keep an eye on the various 2 for 1 sales. The FS dvds tend to wind up in them about 3-6 months after release. HMV has them up to 2.3 at 2 for £25 and Forbidden Planet is doing 2 for £30. Virgin and a couple of the others usually follow suit quite quickly. It works out at about £65 quid for a 22 ep season - £15 cheaper than Buffy!

Do you always judge a show by it's first episode? On that basis, Star Trek DS9, Voyager and Enterprise, Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1, the X-Files and a number of notable others would all have been consigned to the waste-bin very quickly!


Just something to ponder...

Well, I only paid £60 for Buffy S3, but thanks for the advice. Might wait a while as I went on a bit of a spending spree on other stuff at the weekend, but I'll certainly have a look next time I'm near an HMV.

We also got the last few eps of S3 before the US didn't we? More of a rhetorical question really though, I figured it'd be something like that. Damn 'Farscape' and its end of season cliffhangers!

Depends. If I see the first episodes of something and I'm not that keen, I might occasionally check it out later if it happens to be on to see if it's improved (Smallville leaping to mind here), but I won't go out of my way to watch it.
Problem with a show as complicated as 'Farscape' is that just missing one episode can leave you with absolutely no idea what's going on!

I actually thought "Pilot" the first X-Files episode was pretty darn good myself

I've got the first season on DVD, & I try to catch it on TV whenever I can. I tend to still be on my way home from work when it starts. I rarely understand what is going on at the momen, but it seems pretty good

Further DVD purchases are on hold at the moment, as I am a little short of cash, but as soon as I can I'll be catching up

The method of DVD release is expensive when you add it all up but It does mean that you can but it in stages istead of a load of money all at once.

THe 2 for 1s help as well.

good to see the majority love Farscape. I can't wait to see s4 and due to my awful video player have still to see the finale ep of s3. but it will happen one way or the other!

I've just ordered Season 3 boxed set 1 from Amazon, I missed the first episode of season 3.
