I searched my faithful DigiGuide and nothing came up so you've got at least 3 weeks to wait.
Angels in America Saturday 7th Feb 9pm C4
"The messanger is coming"
I hadn't even heard of this until the it swept the board for TV Drama awards at the Golden Globes last week.
I saw a trailer for it on C4 yesterday and I have to say that it looks amazing... I was under the assumption that by Angels it meant nice people who do great things, but by the looks of things it actually means a winged flying all-in-white type Angel
Does anyone know when its due to start as the trailer just said "Coming soon"

I thought it was a two part thing? not shown one day and repeated the next?... it looks very intriguing so i think i'll be checking it out (and taping CSI Miami )
And Bryany, completely agree with you, just before Christmas there was nothing worth watching and now it's the total opposite!

According to yesterday's Guardian, Angels in America is a mini-series of six parts coming in at one hour each. There's also a 2 part version coming in at 3 hours each, presumably this is what Channel 4 are showing.
It's a major HBO production that makes Six Feet Under look square and has apparently kicked up a major ruccus with the religious right Stateside: consider me sold!

What? There are 4 TVs in our house you can record C4 off if you aren't able to watch it at the time.

I was commenting on the fact that shows on C4 often randomly change time slot or dissapear altogether.

Did anyone watch this?
I was partying that weekend so taped it ... still haven't got around to watching it yet. I think the length is putting me off .... worth it?

We did watch it, i thought it was very good. It is very obviously an adapted stage play, and can be quite stagey in places, which may affect how you feel about it.
The performances are all excellent. The guys i hadn't heard of before were very good, and Al Pacino hasn't had this good a role in far too long. Emma Thompson doesn't have the hugest role, but looks great with wings
I'm not convinced some of the politics of it has entirely stood up to time (it was written in the early 90's), but what is there is strong and heartfelt. As long as the magical realist/whimsical elements work for you, i think you will enjoy it.
