Buffy - Can't remember the name but the one where Jenny Calendar is killed..Angel's voiceover bit at the end is brilliant.

Angel - The one where Angel & Buffy get it together until he has to turn back time..or the one where Doyle died..too think these were back-to-back eps as well

Can't think of any other tv shows off the top of my head.

Agree with, and second, all of Milky's choices.

And, because it's my latest fave show:

'The Bicycle Thief', Dead Like Me.

Georgia leaves Happy Time and Mason pops the souls of the gay couple. Both situations beautifully portrayed with moments of laughter and sadness. And nicely rounded off with Rube's touching gift to George.

Still shed a tear or two when I watch it.

Well the special ones for me are:

Star Trek TNG: All Good Things: its the mother of all time travel stories, a clever full circle to the series, and remarkably emotional for an often sterile show. The poker scene at the end always gets to me.

XFiles: Clyde Bruckmans Final Repose: This has everything, its wonderfully funny, genuinely sweet, and touchingly sad, and actually remembers to tell a surprisingly unpredicable story too. A good series at its absolute peak.

Buffy: Becoming Pt2: After all the great episodes it still comes back to that one monumentous finale. By turns thrilling, shocking, and hankie moisteningly sad this is what transfered Buffy from the 'great show' category to the 'classic' league.

It has to be Buffy - Once More With Feeling.

Angel: Lullaby... Angel holding baby Connor in his arms, all you can hear is the sound of the rain falling as he stares at Holtz who has a wooden bolt pointed at him. Angel is like a hunted animal...

Buffy: Season Two finale. I also have a soft spot for S3's "Amends"

Smallville: There are currently two, maybe three episodes this season, but "Rosetta" from Season Two, featuring Christopher Reeve. Especially when the "Superman" theme began to play in the back ground during a scene between Mr. Reeve and Tom Welling... spine tingling stuff

Yeah I think thats probably my fave ST:TNG episode...although I do like 'Best Of Both Worlds' as well.

Was trying to think of my fave eps from DS9 & Voyager.

DS9 it's probably the episode where Sisko is killed by some accident on the Defiant then appears every so often to Jake. It turns out that Sisko is trapped in some sort of time bubble that is linked to Jake and that eventually Jake figures out how to break the bubble and stop his father from dying.

Voyager is more difficult...certain seasons of the entire show were rubbish, I didn't think it started getting good till it was almost finished. For pure 'oh look' factor I'll go with the episode where The Rock guest starred as a prize fighter and gave 7 of 9 The Rock Bottom..made me laugh at least especially as I was waiting to see The Peoples Eyebrow *snigger*(Non-wrestling fans probably won't get half of that).

Can't believe I forgot Friends first time round as well...

Fave episode of that..man thats hard...I'll have to think about it some more...

I tend to like a large number of episodes, so it's hard to pick them out, but i'll have a go.

Buffy: Season Two is my favourite Buffy season, so it's no surprise that my favourite episodes are Passion and the excellent Becoming, Part II.

Angel: Still think the first season of Angel is the best, and from that i think Hero is my favourite episode. Doyle ruled.

The X-Files: Squeeze was the first X-Files episode i ever saw and turned me into a true X-Phile. Great stuff.

Smallville: From the first season of Smallville i really like Hourglass. The scene where it rains blood on Lex in the White House is great. I also love Rosetta from season two. As Keeny said, when the Superman theme played in the background, it was spine tingling stuff.

Alias: I've seen all 3 seasons (well, bar the season 3 finale) in a very short space of time and every episode is good. It's the most consistent show i've ever seen. One of the standouts for me though is The Telling, the season two finale.

There are a couple of other shows that i can't think of episodes from to mention, so i'll keep thinking and come back

Deconstruction of Falling Stars, Babylon 5.

Right up to this point, I'd already concluded B5 was superb with its astoundingly ambitious and intricate epic story arc, thought-provokingly grey issues, convincingly flawed characters and superb ensemble cast.

However, by showing how people in future years would perceive and/or attempt to exploit the memory, myth and legacy of the characters, DoFS made it feel more than a TV series - it made it feel like history.

One of the reasons for this was the way the main characters were all referred to in the past tense. On an intellectual level, I was aware they were human (or Minbari!) and hence mortal but by referring to them in the episode as long dead, it made the point that the story, epic as it was, was just one part of their lives, not their entire story of their lives.

Buffy - Becoming Pt 2. Truely fantastic television.

OK, it's the "Alan asks the bloody stupid question" time again; what happens in 'Becoming'? I can't remember which ep it is...

Becoming Parts 1 and 2 are the last two episodes of Buffy Season 2, and feature Spike finding his legs again (well, using them in public), Willow going all black-eyed and oh yeah, Buffy killing Angel.

Hey, it's all coming back to me (the minimal plot points are, anyway)... ta Maff!

Babylon 5's "The Long, Twilight Struggle", because it changed the entire series' setup irrevocably, and network shows ain't supposed to do that. (Compare season 1 Next Generation with season 7, and aside from Riker's beard and the pimpley kid flying the ship, what's changed?) It's also got, and I channel Comic Book Guy as I say this, the Best Space Battle Ever when the Narn fleet gets thrashed by the Shadows. Also *that* shot of Londo. Great bit of TV.

Buffy's "Innocence" for the same reason, but also "Becoming" for being such a great cliffhanger and "Fool For Love" because ... well, one word: effulgent.

Good point about B5 - even early on in its run, it was already subverting audience expectations and initial impressions ie War Prayer and Mind War starting to show that there was something rotten at the heart of the supposedly heroic Earth Alliance or G'kar showing that there was more to him than a simple aggressor.

Babylon 5 - Sleeping in Light - The end of an era - in every way - can't help but burst into tears as B5 is demolished....

Buffy - The Gift - by no means the best episode of the series, but again it has the biggest emotional impact. Passion would be the next runner up

Angel - I Will Remember You - what can I say - I'm a masochist....

American Gothic - any episode...

Buffy - i agree that becoming pts 1&2 were great, wasnt that the one where kendra died? juliet said that was a pain to film because her nails kept flying off. she said this at the starfury fusion con in blackpool, may 2004. i cant decide on my fave episode though. i am torn between "once more with feeling" and "bewitched bothered and bewildered". i also love tabula rasa. (randy giles, joan is a lame name, xander and willow together, giles and anya engaged etc.) you can see why it is such a hard choice.
