Hmmm, if they think Showtime will revive, and remain loyal, to Firefly after the way they treated shows like Stargate and Dead Like Me, then they really don't know the network.

Don't see what's so bad about Showtime (besides the shabby Queer as Folk remake). Stargate got five seasons out of them -- well past the lifetime of most shows -- and Dead Like Me was a so-so series rightly cancelled for lack of viewers. It got two whole seasons to establish itself and failed. Showtime were a lot more generous than most networks would have been.
Anyway, it's a moot point since once of Fox's contract conditions for releasing the rights to Firefly that it couldn't return to TV, so the future adventures of Serenity will be confined to the big screen.

Actually Byron, DLM was cancelled, not because of lack of viewers (after all, it was on a cable network not a maintream network) but because Bob Greenblatt, the new president, didn't like it and wanted to peddle his own shows which, incidentally, got less figures than DLM. Huff and Fat Actress to name but two. And Callum Blue, Mason from DLM, and the writers and MGM have confirmed as much to the guy who runs Dead Like Me Online. Showtime used ratings as an excuse which later came back to bite them on the arse. In fact, Byron, if you're interested, Showtime had actually commissioned a *third* season but did a 180 right at the last moment, just after Greenblatt came on board, after the writers had begun work on it.

DLM was critically acclaimed and was cancelled by an idiot who's now been found out and his control at Showtime has now been somewhat curtailed as a result.
For once, Byron, I know what I'm talking about so why not do us all a favour and to use an oft-used phrase from the show "shut the ---- up!"
