I really hope they find a way to continue it as it has been one of my favourite scifi shows for many many years now. Although I have grown to like Atlantis it just aint the same and I much prefer SG-1 still, even in it's -RDA version.

So i'm hoping someone else will pick it up or the sci-fi channel might change their minds.

Well it's stubbornly refused to die more times than a certain Vampire Slayer, so I wouldn't write it off just yet.

I was gutted when I heard the news, but all hope isn't lost- according to Robert C.Cooper, one of the show's executive producers, SG-1 will go on in some form.

Byron's right, SG-1 seems to have more lives than the proverbial moggy. First season 6 was going to the last one. Then Lost City parts 1+2 at the end of season 7 was intitially written as a movie script, as they thought season 7 would be the last one. Then season 9 was going to be it. Add to that the fact that the actors had all signed on to do season 11, then it looks promising that the gate will be active for a fair old while yet.

Just curious if this puts any more credit to all the "there will be another movie" references in episode 200....

And there will. Two of 'em! Direct to DVD though.

According to wikipedia, on October 10 Brad Wright said MGM (who own the rights, Sci-Fi just finance and distribute the episodes) have green-lit two DVD movies. One will wrap up the Ori arc and the other will involve time-travel.

Bit surprised (and dissapointed) they didn't persuade a third network to order episodes (although there has been talk that Sci-Fi nixed any more new episodes on the "if we can't have it, no one else can" principle that elimited the possibility of a new Firefly after Serenity was made) but just knew it would continue somehow.

Okay so that means that we are most likely in for a pretty disappointing season final which doesn't really wrap stuff up properly But at least we are getting a few more hours of SG-1 out of it. Really hope that they'll be picked up though by another network (still) as I really like the show!

More Sg-1 is good

Shall look forward to these. So far, season 10 has been pretty good, as has Atlantis s3.
