I met Richard Hatch a couple of years ago. He was working on a new Battlestar Galactica project and he brought a teaser video with him.
Last I heard was that Glen.A.Larson who originally produced the show was having a custody battle with Richard Hatch.
Why can't they work together?
I loved the show (Not Galactica 1980!!!) and still do.

This month's SFX have a short interview with the writer who says it's going to be a remake, not a sequel.

Ohhhhh a remake? I bet that would be fab! I used to love Battlestar, sat there with my dad while mum was yelling at us to get up for dinner or go to bed or whatever and we were just engrossed

I wonder if they will keep the retro style costumes... I didn't read that interview, did it mention a possible release date? Knowing my luck, it won't even be on terrestrial TV!
